CORE INSIGHTS SERIES 2019

MEETING ETHICAL GUIDELINES AND
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Review of the CCNI Code of Ethics

Michael J. Marx will facilitate this interactive session where the CCNI Code of Ethics is explored in detail.  Practical examples and scenarios will be presented. The ethical Christian coach should be firmly grounded in high moral principals and sound decision making.  How does this code apply to one’s everyday coaching?  How might the CCNI code be revised to be more updated to current
coaching practices?  This competency more than any other results in safety for the coach and client.

Here are some goals about this Review of the CCNI Code of Ethics:

1.  The Christian coach should understand the objectives of the CCNI Code and be ready to apply these standards in practice.

2.  The Christian coach should be able to distinguish the differences between a biblically based Code of Ethics and a secular code (such as that of ICF).

3.  The Christian coach should know what is offensive and how to include cultural
awareness in one’s coaching.

4. The Christian coach should understand confidentiality as it relates to coaching; for example, the sharing of prayer requests.

This core competency event offers one (1) hour of ICF/BCC/CCNI continuing education.
