Writer's Learning Community:

Empowering the Writer Within

Special Opportunity to Grow as a Writer!

Rich Weigel, President of CCNI, will be hosting a Learning Community for writers. This is an opportunity for Christian Coaches who have felt that they are also called to write. This learning community will meet one time each month for a four month commitment. You will need to register for EACH month.

Our CCNI Writer’s Learning Community (WLC) is a project that is the embodiment of what we as Christian Coaches believe. We all need a coach to help us to reach our potential. We need someone to will help us to discover what we want and then walk along side to help us build our motivation and accountability.

Quoting from Mark Batterson in his book Chase the Lion, “We don’t get where God wants us to go by ourselves! If we go it alone, we’ll get lost somewhere along the way. Then who’s going to pick you up when you fall down? And who’s going to push you to your potential.”

If you believe that God has called you to write, then this may be just the venue for you. As a Writer’s Learning Community, we meet monthly for one hour. During that time there will be one person who shares one of their methods for writing. Another person will share something they have written, something they plan to write, or an issue about their writing they are struggling with. Then, someone else from our WLC will be their coach for a portion of our time. We will also have short-time small breakout rooms where each person is expected to talk about their writing progress and what they will get done before we meet again next month.

Like the Inklings of old, (the writer's group that included C.S Lewis and J.R. Tolkien), we are bringing together people who feel the need to share what we are writing. But unlike them or any other form of a writer’s community, we are Christian brother and sister coaches who have the skills to encourage, critique, correct, argue, advise, and push each other to get our writing done always with the view of giving God the glory. (Not that your writing has to be God focused, but as Christians our motive needs to be God’s glory.) In other words, everyone needs to be ready to engage each time we meet.

If you’re feeling the Holy Spirit’s push to write, then this may be a tool to help you move toward discovery of what to do with that push.

Purpose of this group:

  • To support Christian Coaches who want to write.
  • To build Christian writers to influence the culture.

Outcome:
We will encourage and push each other to new levels and improvements of our writing.

Who should participate:

Christian Coaches who are ready to write – right now.

Time and Date:
