Preparing the Soul
Overall Description:
Our souls have been through tremendous strain the past couple of years. Coaches are trained to listen to others, they have a natural desire to nurture others. Our effectiveness in our calling, however, is in part predicated upon how we care for ourselves. Each meeting is stand alone. You can join for one session or you can experience the cumulative effect of the series. These sessions are for any coach (male or female) who recognizes the need to tend to their own soul. This is not a fluff and stuff workshop, but a breathe deep, dive deep time of wonder, abiding and where appropriate, healing.
Learning Objectives/Outcomes:
The desired outcome is to create space for the soul to breathe, gain perspective, to heal, and to prepare. This is a “recovery of the being" time to "prepare for future doing."
Session 1: Being honest about the impact of the past two years. (Mar. 23)
Session 2: Being clear on where I am at this point in time. (Apr. 27)
Session 3: Being present to Him who is in me. (June 22)
Session 4: Being free from that which is pulling at me. (July 27)
Session 5: Being full of grace and mercy. (Aug 24)
Session 6: Being with our being creating a new rhythm of relating for 2023. (Oct. 26)
Your Facilitator
Cheryl Scanlan, MCC, CMCC is a former executive with a multi-million dollar firm in New York who loves the Lord.
In 2003, Tom, her husband and best friend of 35+ years, suggested coaching as a possible ministry for Cheryl. She followed his advice. In 2004, Cheryl began coaching even as she battled one of the worse cases of Lyme Disease on record at the time. Her work began in her local church of 4,000, where she had previously held numerous positions, such as Women’s Minister and Care Director leading a team of 200 volunteers.
Cheryl is primarily a business and executive coach with over 12,000 hours of coaching experience. She has worked with thousands of C-Levels and business owners within C3Advantage to develop high-performance organizations, foster executive health, and prepare organizations for critical transitions. A unique milestone in her work occurred when Franklin Covey hired her and her business partner to develop an internal training program for the company – it was and continues to be, the only time Franklin Covey has ever hired an outside firm to develop and deliver internal training for the company.
Currently, Cheryl serves as Provost of PCCI (Professional Christian Coaching Institute), where she oversees the instructors, mentor coaching, CPLC certification process, and curriculum management for the school. Cheryl mentors other coaches primarily through her membership platform, Coach’s Edge.
Cheryl’s core passion is to see God’s people walk in step with Him. Within her nonprofit, Promised Land Living, Cheryl and her team equip and certify coach presenters with tools to guide men and women through a curriculum as they learn to walk in step with the Lord.
