Coaching Goal Setting
The research is clear: People who set goals are more successful. However, not all goals are created equal. This webinar will provide you with a goal setting template that was specifically designed to be used by a coach working with a client. It is framed around some of the best research on the brain and effective goal setting.
Because we will take a good amount of time to talk through a single goal, we are building what is called the “endowment effect.” That is what happens when an individual takes ownership of something and it clearly becomes “theirs”, thereby integrating that goal into an individual’s sense of identity. Through a quality goal setting process an individual immediately begins to change into the person associated with what it they are trying to do.
During this webinar, Dr. Weigel will work with a fellow coach who has volunteered ahead of time to be the client. He will follow the template and use it in a flexible way to help the client to set one clear goal.
The goal of this webinar is to present the goal setting template, but it is also an opportunity to work as a Learning Community where we improve each other. The coach/client goal setting discussion with be roughly 2/3 of the call. Then questions will be asked about what is working and what might be done better.
