Equipping Coaches to Deal with
Mental Health Crisis:
Support, Intervention, and Resources
with Jim Stone, DMin, ACC
What can we do when we sense that a client needs support and/or intervention with a mental health problem or crisis, including suicidal thoughts? Coaches are not counselors but as coaches we may be called upon to support a client who is facing a mental health crisis or have someone in their life who is. We can be a valuable, even life-saving support by using our coaching skills and being familiar with the resources that are available.
In this event we will:
Rev. Dr. Jim Stone, ACC has served as a pastor, the Director of Mental Health for the Syracuse Rescue Mission, and is currently serving as a chaplain in a psychiatric center. Coaching has always been a part of his approach to ministry and leadership. Jim is the host/facilitator of the CCNI Missions Learning Community. He is the president of the ICF Upstate New York Chapter, and is a founding board member of Coaching Suicide Awareness.
