God Where You Are
No, that title isn’t a typo. It’s a declaration.
You know sometimes you get that nagging feeling that you are just too far away from God for Him to speak to you? This time you have waited too long since you made the effort to get close, and now you are in a situation where you need His presence, His guidance, His wisdom – but you are too far away.
I don’t think so.
God leads us wherever we are, even if we sometimes think or feel He stayed behind when we left:
You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me. (Psalm 139:5-10)
Jesus said that if we abide in Him we will produce fruit that lasts, and which glorifies the Father. It is from that place in Jesus that we can pray for the things on our hearts and on His:
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. (John 15:7-8)
