THRIVE:  ESTABLISHING HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

Many people have a hard time establishing boundaries or find it hard to maintain the boundaries they put in place. Without healthy boundaries stress wins and people continually struggle.  Boundaries are required for people to thrive in life and to serve as they are called.

Debbie draws a distinction between boundaries and healthy boundaries.  Anyone can set a boundary but unless you are emotionally and spiritually healthy, your boundaries will likely be driven by improper motives.  Furthermore, your ability to maintain the boundaries you set will be next to impossible.  Healthy boundaries, implemented and maintained, are a necessity for every person.

In this presentation you will learn:

1) why boundaries matter;
2) what boundaries look like;
3) the types of boundaries;
4) how to maintain your boundaries;
5) myths and truths about boundaries; and,
6) what makes a boundary “healthy".

No ICF continuing education will be offered for this event.

YOUR PRESENTER

Like so many professional women, Debbie once lived a life filled to the brim with stress. The continual striving to be all things to all people resulted in questioning her purpose, wondering if “it’s all” worth it and eventually, poor life choices.  Also, like most professional women, she struggled with perfectionism and constantly looking for the golden nugget that would bring her peace, contentment and authentic living.

Debbie has been a life coach since 2010 and a John Maxwell leadership coach since 2012.  She is passionate about helping professional women build a foundation of serenity so they can truly thrive in the life God has called them to.

Debbie is married to her soul mate, Barry, for 26 years. They are a blended family with 5 grown children, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and one well-loved dog; Buster, who is 16 years old.

Debbie has been coaching, mentoring and serving in leadership roles for 37+ years across professional and volunteer capacities.  She is retired from a 30 year Fortune 500 career.  She and her husband have led the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at their church since it’s inception almost 11 years ago.

She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Women St. Louis Chapter as the Director of Community Outreach.

Debbie just launched her first book, Choose to THRIVE:  Conquering Your Inner Conflicts, in February 2017.

She is currently on a mission with God that is giving her lots of opportunities to revisit her own foundation of serenity.
