Writer's Learning Community:

Empowering the Writer Within

Special Opportunity!

Rich Weigel, President of CCNI, will be hosting a brand new Learning Community for writers. This is an opportunity for Christian Coaches who have felt that they are also called to write. This learning community will meet one time each month for a four month commitment. During those times the participants may be called upon to read their writing, talk about their writing project, discuss writing methodologies, or build a plan for their next writing idea. This group will be pushing each other to get more writing done and we will hold each other accountable.

During the first session we will review several ideas about writing, brainstorming, and how we want to build our work together. Our theme verse is: Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) - As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

We are looking for Christian Coaches who will make a multi-monthly commitment to this work because writing is not a one-and-done process, but an exploratory process where one idea builds on another and another. Great writing does not happen quickly, but it happens faster when a group of people build expectations and accountability for each other.

At each meeting we will have a voluntary coach and client for 20 minutes to talk about what that person is writing or wants to write. The other members of the learning community will listen and learn as we build our skills and writing prowess with each other.

The basic agenda for the first few meetings will be:

  • Welcome and Prayer – 2 min.
  •  Rotation of Accomplishments – 5 min. o Readings – 10-15 min.
  •  Mini-Lesson on Writing – 10 min.
  • Writer’s Coaching – 20 min.
  • Coaching Reflection – 5 min.
  • Dismiss – 1 min.

Purpose of this group:

  • To support Christian Coaches who want to write.
  • To build Christian writers to influence the culture.

Outcome:
We will encourage and push each other to new levels and improvements of our writing.

Who should participate:

Christian Coaches who are ready to write – right now.

Time and Date:
4th Tuesdays of .the month, 4pm Eastern Time

NOTE: This is a Four-month Commitment (note you will need to register each month)

Dates for the Four-month commitment are

July 21, 2020

Aug 25, 2020

September 22, 2020

October 27, 2020

Dr. Rich Weigel has been involved in the field of education for over 30 years. His current business, ProEdCoach (Professional Educators Coaching Services), was established in 2018 as he transitioned from being a school superintendent to the field of leadership and executive coaching.

His extensive background in leadership and working for large school districts helps him to provide support for teachers, principals, superintendents and school boards across the nation. He is a Strengths Champion Coach in addition to his expertise as a national trainer with VitalSmarts and Professional Learning Communities.

Rich is the current president of Christian Coaches Network International. He is the vice president for a N.W. Indiana group called the Shared Ethics Advisory Board and he is an adjunct professor for Olivet Nazarene University.

His writings include a series of articles based on his dissertation about the need for leaders to develop skills. He is currently working on a leadership book to be titled, Leading God’s Way for Lasting Impact.

He is married with 3 adult children and believes that since there is nothing in the Bible that says, “thou shalt retire,” he has yet to reach a time for slowing down or to stop pushing the envelope based on the reality that the Bible does say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
