Equipping Coaches to Deal with

Mental Health Crisis:

Support, Intervention, and Resources

with Jim Stone, DMin, ACC

What can we do when we sense that a client needs support and/or intervention with a mental health problem or crisis, including suicidal thoughts? Coaches are not counselors but as coaches we may be called upon to support a client who is facing a mental health crisis or have someone in their life who is. We can be a valuable, even life-saving support by using our coaching skills and being familiar with the resources that are available.

In this event we will:

    • Discuss how to recognize when mental health support and/or intervention is needed.
    • Explore how the core competencies of coaching apply to intervention and support of our clients facing mental health problems and crisis
    • Share resources for intervention, referral and training.
      Your Event Presenter:

Rev. Dr. Jim Stone, ACC has served as a pastor, the Director of Mental Health for the Syracuse Rescue Mission, and is currently serving as a chaplain in a psychiatric center. Coaching has always been a part of his approach to ministry and leadership. Jim is the host/facilitator of the CCNI Missions Learning Community. He is the president of the ICF Upstate New York Chapter, and is a founding board member of Coaching Suicide Awareness. Jim's passion is helping people discover and pursue God's plan and purpose for their lives and grow into a deeper relationship with him.SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave
