About Face: Taking God to Others
What an amazing celebration! Seven years work on the temple was now finished, and the gold and silver utensils dedicated by David were brought into the treasuries of the house of God. All the leaders and elders of Israel were assembled to bring the ark into the holy of holies, accompanied by sacrifice, praising and singing with harps, lyres and cymbals. There were 120 priests playing trumpets as they glorified God with one voice. Just imagine!
King Solomon looked on as the glory of the Lord filled the temple in the form of a thick cloud, and the priests couldn’t carry on with their ministry. As he witnessed this amazing sight, Solomon said:
“The Lord has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud. “I have built You a lofty house, And a place for Your dwelling forever.” Then the king faced about and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing. (2 Chronicles 6:1-3)
We can follow Solomon’s lead as we fix our gaze on our God, offering both the praise of our mouths and the sacrifice of our selves. Inspired by what we see and empowered by being in His presence, we can then turn to bless others through ‘being present’ as coaches.
