Washing with Words

As I called my father, exhausted, emotional and shaky, his words washed over me like a cool rain, “Now you know you can cut it kid.”…. “The words of my father, my heavenly father, wash over me as the ones spoken by my earthly father did. Once again, a wave of emotion erupts into tears of joy, in knowing that because of His perfect love, in God’s eyes, I am enough.”

Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. The words of Jesus wash over us – cleansing, purifying, sanctifying, refreshing. Washing away the dirt from the dusty road we traveled today; revealing the resurrection body He gave us long ago. Setting us free to be the Truth He made us for.

Join other Christian coaches on the first Thursday in August, and invest 45 minutes to put Jesus, the Living Word, right back in the centre where He belongs. We’ll explore together what Jesus meant when He said, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean.” (John 13:10)

Bring scriptures, bring insights, bring prayer requests. But be especially sure to bring the present of your presence – a blessing to others and a sweet-smelling aroma to the Lord.
